
Kathryn Taylor practices across all aspects of family law, demonstrating an impressive ability in complex law disputes in particular. She has a wealth of experience in handling cases involving domestic abuse, injuries and sexual exploitation ( Chambers UK 2025)
Described as ‘excellent, thorough and diligent’ Kathryn works closely with those instructing her in order to offer a team approach to her clients. In recent case that involved cross examination of several experts, Kathryn successfully argued against a final order approving a care plan to remove a child from her mother to place with grandparents.
Kathryn has had recent success in the Court of Appeal, and secured the child’s placement with her mother, whilst clarifying the approach to cases involving future risk.
Within Private Law proceedings Kathryn is instructed in complicated cases involving alientating behaviours, allegations of sexual abuse, relocation of children, and issues where fact find hearings are necessary. Kathryn also sits as a Early Neutral Evaluation Assesor utilising her 20 years experience to help parties find a resolution outside the courtroom.
Kathryn is committed to giving robust and honest advice whilst fearlessly representing her clients’ position.

Kathryn was called to the bar in 2005 and after her pupillage in 2006 commenced tenancy in 2007. From 2010 – 2012 Kathryn was a visiting lecturer at Birmingham University; from 2012 Kathryn was appointed a senior lecturer and an ATC qualified Advocacy Assessor at Nottingham Trent University where she taught on the Bar Professional Training Course. Kathryn regularly speaks at chambers seminars, where recent talks have included a Private Law Update and round up of the law and procedure in cases with a suspected terrorism element.
