Overview and Refresher of TUPE in Practice

Tue, 16 Jan 2018

Traditional Transfers of Undertakings under Regulation 3(1)(a) TUPE 2006 will be held at the offices of Slater and Gordon in Manchester on March 6, and is open to solicitors, HR professionals, businesses and unions.

Mugni Islam-Choudhury of the Employment Group at No5 said: “Service provision change (SPC) under regulation 3(1)(b) dominates recent caselaw.

“However, it is easy to forget that SPC can also amount to a traditional transfer of an undertaking, and there are some cases where employees are only protected under the traditional model of transfer of undertakings (regulation 3(1)(a)) as opposed to SPC.

“This seminar provides a refresher on the main principles and cases concerning regulation 3(1)(a), together with a practical application of key TUPE concepts in an interactive and informative workshop.”

Mugni and his No5 colleague Helen Barney are both members of the North West Employment Law Group.
