Steven joined the bar in 2011 having previously qualified as a Solicitor in 2005. Steven is authorised to accept direct access instructions and it is willing to accept instructions on a CFA basis.
Steven has developed a successful practice encompassing credit hire litigation, personal injury litigation (including insurance fraud) and costs. Steven is known for his robust, yet friendly, approach to litigation.
Following his transfer to the bar, Steven has developed a successful and extensive costs practice.
Having spent many years in a ‘Solicitors environment’, he is well placed to understand the commercial needs of Solicitors in relation to legal costs and litigation funding issues.
Steven regularly advises Solicitors on all aspects of costs litigation including funding, recoverability of additional liabilities, retainers, costs budgeting, security for costs and Solicitor and Client assessments.
Steven regularly appears in the SCCO in addition to the County and High Court on detailed assessments and costs appeals. Steven I well versed in dealing with complex costs points and high value detailed assessments.
