Mian Sheraz Javaid is a Door Tenant with the Business and Property team and accepts instructions in all areas of commercial, construction, property, and chancery disputes, and specializes in Construction and Energy Law.
Sheraz has considerable experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, including advising, drafting, pleadings, and representing parties in a broad range of commercial and chancery disputes. He acts on behalf of parties in applications and trials in the High Court and County Courts.
Construction and Energy Law
With over 2 decades of experience, Sheraz has emerged as a leader in Construction and Energy Law. As a civil engineer turned barrister, Sheraz incorporates his invaluable civil engineering experience into his practice.
Other than his litigation practice, Sheraz has extensive transactional and contentious commercial law experience within the construction and energy sectors. His dual qualifications make him uniquely placed to advise on complex energy and construction law matters. He advises international clients and governments on all aspects of construction law, ranging from litigation to alternative dispute resolution (ADR), Mediation, Adjudication, Neutral Evaluation, Expert Determination, Arbitration, licensing, regulatory issues, etc.
Sheraz is widely considered an expert on construction contracts. His practice offers contract drafting/negotiation, contract review, and standard forms of contract including FIDIC, JCT, and NEC with the added surety of how those matters are argued and interpreted in courts.
Dispute Resolution
Sheraz has a thriving ADR practice and currently serves as the Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Pakistan Branch. He is available for appointments as arbitrator, adjudicator, and/or mediator by party agreement and from various institutes. As a CIArb Fellow, a major part of his ADR practice focuses on Arbitration. Sheraz has successfully represented parties in Arbitrations in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Pakistan.
Dispute Avoidance
In addition to dispute resolution, Sheraz also offers dispute avoidance services. Sheraz regularly advises clients in the construction and energy sectors, guides stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, and trains managerial staff on standard forms of contract and ADR.

Trainings
Sheraz regularly provides ADR lectures at prestigious institutions around the globe. He also enjoys the honor of serving on CIArb’s Approved Faculty List (AFL), through which he provides International Arbitration Mediation, and Adjudication training to engineers, barristers, solicitors, and public sector organization employees across the globe.
