When as a junior and in silk, Jonathan has been instructed in numerous cases involving oncology and generally, allegations relating to delay in diagnosis.
Jonathan has generally been involved in cases concerning breast, cervical and prostate cancer.
Jonathan is familiar with the procedure involved for taking evidence by deposition for a dying witness and has attended at a Claimant’s home for such a hearing.
A selection of cases which Jonathan has been involved in are set out below:
Re W [2018] continuing
Alleged failures by a number of general practitioners to refer the Claimant to a cancer clinic when she was presenting with the signs and symptoms of cervical cancer.
Re KD [2018] continuing
Admitted failure to refer the Claimant to hospital following a mammogram leading to the death of the Claimant.
Re SW [2016]
Failure of the defendant general practitioners to refer the Claimant to a gynaecologist following her repeated attendance at her general practitioners’ surgery with the signs and symptoms of cervical cancer.
Re GP [2015]
Delay in performing gall bladder surgery which would have led to an earlier diagnosis of gall bladder cancer.
