Harrison is a member of the Business and Property Group at No5 and accepts instructions in all areas of commercial disputes. He appears in the County Court and High Court on a variety of trials and interlocutory hearings. He acts in small claim, fast track, and multi-track cases at all stages.
Harrison appears on behalf of insurers, policyholders, and individuals in the full range of insurance disputes. He has extensive experience of claims in negligence, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and misrepresentation.
Recent cases include:
• Represented an insurance company after a claim was brought following a failure to make payment following flood damage. The insurer repudiated the claim due to allegations of fraud.
• Instructed by an insurer to represent their client alleged to have breached implied terms in a contract of sale. Achieved a considerable saving in both damages and costs.
• Advised a policyholder on a claim against his insurer for breach of contract following the withholding of a policy pay-out.
• Successfully defended claims for vehicle/property damage, vehicle hire and personal injury against insurers.
Prior to joining No5, Harrison worked as a paralegal to the Chief Executive of a large Midlands law firm, specialising in commercial and banking law. Much of his workload involved advising insurance clients in commercial disputes. As a result, he has a keen understanding of the business needs facing corporate clients.
