Viewing: Insolvency for Harrison Burroughs

Harrison is a member of the Business and Property Group at No5 and accepts instructions in all areas of insolvency disputes. He appears in the County Court and High Court on a variety of trials and interlocutory hearings. He acts in small claim, fast track, and multi-track cases at all stages and is regularly instructed in personal and corporate insolvency proceedings acting on behalf of both creditors and debtors.
Harrison has extensive experience of claims under the Insolvency Act 1986 and the interplay with the Companies Act 2006, including for wrongful trading, fraudulent trading, and breach of directors’ duties.
Recent cases include:
• Advised a company on the possible routes to recovery of a Judgment debt against a debtor in insolvent liquidation, including enforcement against the former directors.
• Acted on behalf of a creditor and obtained an order for possession and sale of a property held by a debtor.
• Secured a bankruptcy order against a debtor who acted as personal guarantor to a company under a factoring agreement. Secured indemnity costs.
• Acted on behalf of the applicant in an application to set aside a statutory demand.
Prior to joining No5, Harrison worked as a paralegal to the Chief Executive of a large Midlands law firm, specialising in commercial and banking law. As a result, he has a keen understanding of the business needs facing corporate clients.
