Viewing: Agriculture & Rural Affairs for Harrison Burroughs

Harrison is a member of the Business and Property Group at No5 and acts in a wide range of cases involving agricultural and rural issues. He represents both businesses and individuals in commercial and domestic disputes. Harrison’s work frequently involves crossovers with other areas, including property, commercial, and trusts law.
Recent cases have included:
• Acted in a contractual dispute on behalf of an agricultural business regarding the price of supplies. Successfully opposed the Defendant’s application for relief from sanctions.
• Successfully resisted possession of a property used for domestic and agricultural purposes. Drafted the defence and counterclaim asserting a beneficial interest in the property by means of a constructive trust.
• Represented the Defendant farmer in a claim for unpaid loans, used for agricultural equipment, in a quasi-domestic relationship. Asserted the amounts were advanced as gifts, and that the Claimant was estopped from seeking any sums.
• Advised, drafted, and represented in a TOLATA claim concerning a family home which dealt with niche issues such as the valuation of a property classed as a rural enterprise dwelling.
Prior to joining No5, Harrison worked as a paralegal to the Chief Executive of a large Midlands law firm, specialising in commercial and banking law. As a result, he has a keen understanding of the business needs facing commercial clients.
