Tim Jones in Victory over Dale Farm Council

Fri, 03 Feb 2012

In the first Basildon Gypsy planning appeal since the Dale Farm evictions, Tim Jones has gained planning permission for two Irish Travellers in an appeal against a refusal of permission by Basildon Council. The site lies in the Green Belt, not far from Dale Farm. However the inspector found that there was a significant unmet need for Gypsy/Traveller sites in the district which would not be met for some years to come and gave considerable weight to the LPA’s failure to address need within the circular 1/06 timeframe and to maintain a 5-year supply as required by PPS3.
