No5 Chambers Barrister Susan Monaghan has been appointed to be legally qualified chair to the West Midlands Police Misconduct hearings.

Since 1 May 2015 police misconduct and special case hearings have been held in public in accordance with new national legislation. The change was introduced to increase transparency, accountability and public confidence.

From January 2016 all police and misconduct hearings will be chaired by legally qualified chairmen.
