A TILE HILL burglar who breached a suspended sentence has been put on a curfew.

Terri Hancox, aged 27, of Jeliff Street, Tile Hill, Coventry, tricked her way into an elderly couple’s flat in November 2009 by claiming she had been raped.

She asked to use the bathroom but the couple heard footsteps in their bedroom and found Hancox stealing ornaments, jewellery and a wallet.

Hancox was given a suspended sentence in June last year but breached it by failing to attend appointments with her probation officer.

At Coventry Crown Court yesterday, Simon Hunka, defending, said it was a “peculiar burglary” because Hancox, who was drunk at the time, stayed with the couple until police arrived.................
