No5 Barristers’ Chambers are pleased to announce that the King has appointed Catherine Jones to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales.

She will be deployed on the Midlands Circuit and based at Birmingham County Court.

Catherine, who will be known as District Judge Catherine Jones, was a member of the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence practice groups at No5. She has been a deputy district judge since 2019. She was called to the Bar in 2010.

Jonathan Jones KC, Joint Head of Chambers at No5 said – “Catherine was a very successful and popular personal injury practitioner at the Bar and we have no doubt that she will apply herself with equal diligence on the Bench. Being appointed to the District Judge bench at only 12 years of call is a remarkable achievement. We congratulate District Judge Catherine Jones on her appointment and wish her well on the next phase of her career.”
