Inquest Opened After Cliff Death

Thu, 25 Oct 2012

An inquest has been opened by Caroline Sumeray, Isle of Wight coroner, after a woman died when her vehicle plunged over a cliff at Compton last week.

Angela Slater, 48, of Salterns Way, Poole, Dorset, was recovered by police from the bottom of the cliff last Tuesday after a man walking his dog saw the car fall down the cliff.

She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport. A post mortem has revealed that she died of multiple injuries. The police investigation has found nothing suspicious about the circumstances.

The inquest has now been adjourned.
