The Secretary of State for Transport has confirmed Compulsory Purchase, Side Roads and Slip Roads Orders in order to upgrade the A50 junction west of Uttoxeter.  Hugh Richards acted for Staffordshire County Council who were promoting the orders under an agency agreement with Highways England.

The Orders were part of improvements planned to the A50 Growth Corridor and will facilitate a new factory for JCB and housing and employment development at Uttoxeter.  Further upgrades to the A50 east of Uttoxeter are now under consideration by the Council and Highways England in order to support further housing and employment growth in the area.
