Fri, 28 Sep 2012

22 Judges and the Head of Directorate General of International Law and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Justice from the Republic of Turkey attended our new London office on the 20th of September 2012 via the auspices of Business Network and the Turkish British Legal Society. The Judges sit in varying courts ranging from First Instance to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. They came with a view to strengthening ties with No5 Chambers and the Turkish Judiciary. They will take back what they learnt during their time here and help implement changes to the Law and Constitution in the Republic of Turkey. There will be an ongoing programme of mentoring and further talks on a joint initiative where individual Judges will be placed on a one to one scheme with Barristers at No5 Chambers. Emma Edhem, President of the Turkish British Legal Society and Barrister at No5, is leading the initiative.
