Village Greens, Commons and Assets of Community Value

No5's Planning Group members have extensive experience in applications to register (or de-register) new town and village greens (TVGs as they are frequently known) pursuant to the Commons Act 2006.

Members frequently act as Inspector and have been appointed by a range of Commons Registration Authorities to manage and direct the progression of applications and to preside over public inquiries and make recommendations regarding registration.

Members have also regularly acted for landowners and applicants at the advisory stage and provided representation at public inquiries.

Members have published widely on the development of TVG law and have provided training for Councillors sitting on a decision making Committee to ensure that only relevant considerations are taken into account when making decisions on TVG applications.
