Development Plans

Members of the Planning and Environment Group have been instructed to assist public and private sector clients in relation to a large number of Development Plan matters.

The group has wide experience of assisting councils with the formulation and promotion of plans, assisting developer clients with retaining and/or securing allocations within a plan and with derailing proposed plans. Members frequently advise clients in the formulation of representations on plans and in the build-up to a local plan examination as well as appearing at the examination itself. Members regularly appear in the High Court on behalf of Local Authorities and Developers in relation to challenges to local plans.

Among the plans, members have been involved with in recent years are those at Birmingham, Canterbury, Huntingdonshire, Leeds, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Rugby, Solihull, Vale of Aylesbury, Waverley, West Oxfordshire, Wycombe, Chelmsford, Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire, West Sussex, St Albans and the South Worcestershire Development Plan.

The team also has wide experience of advising in relation to Mineral and Waste Local Plans.
