Marc Forrest-Thomas

Marc joined No5 in 2016 as a Clerk, after almost a decade working as a Police Station Representative for a local solicitor’s firm. After spending 5 years clerking the Criminal group, Marc joined the Planning and Environment group where he was subsequently promoted to Practice Manager and later to Practice Director of the group.

In 2026 Marc was appointed Chief Commercial Officer, forming part of the C-Suite management team alongside the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Clerk.

In addition, Marc is the Chair of the Birmingham Law Society LGBTQ+ committee, a member the EDI committees of both Chambers and the Birmingham Law Society and the national FreeBar organising committee.

Marc is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion within the legal sector and is often invited to speak on these matters publicly.

Outside of work, Marc is an avid reader, reviews books for publishers and regularly attends publishing events and the theatre.
