Third Six with the Planning and Environment Group

The Planning and Environment Group at No5 Barristers’ Chambers invites applications for a Third Six Pupil to join Chambers (with a view to tenancy subject to the successful completion of a third six pupillage). The third six pupil may be based either in Birmingham or London (dependant upon chambers’ business needs and in discussion with any successful applicant) and will be expected to undertake written work, attend hearings and accept appropriate instructions across England and Wales as directed by a supervisor.


Written applications will be assessed in accordance with the following criteria:-

  • Demonstrable interest in planning and environmental law in practice.
  • Commitment/motivation.
  • Excellence and obvious potential in legal and factual analysis, succinct written work and robust oral delivery.
  • An acute awareness of client needs and objectives including commercial reality.
  • Collaborative and team spirit, working to collegiate ends.
