Tom is an experienced lawyer who acts on behalf of both claimants and respondents in the employment tribunal at both preliminary and final hearings.
Before joining the Bar, Tom worked as an employment solicitor for 7 years at Withers, Paul Hastings and Allen and Overy. Tom is used to working closely with clients and understands the importance of client care.
He has extensive experience of all aspects of both contentious and non-contentious employment law including conducting unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims in the employment tribunal as well as advising on mediations, settlement agreements, day-to-day HR issues, grievance and disciplinary matters, conducting investigations and the applicability of TUPE.
Tom has particular experience in financial services and has also worked with clients in media, technology, retail, manufacturing, football and the charity sector.
Tom is registered for public access and regularly undertakes pro bono employment work. He has contributed to a textbook on UK employment law and regularly provides training to employers on employment law.
Tom has been appointed to investigate grievance and disciplinary matters in industries including construction, biotech and financial services.
Instructed by the Claimant NHS Consultant in an upcoming 15-day liability hearing against an NHS Trust regarding whistleblowing and constructive unfair dismissal.
