Talbir prosecutes and defends and has experience in Appeal by Case Stated and Judicial Review. He also has a keen interest in the Human Rights Act.
Talbir has experience in rape, murder and drug trafficking cases and has dealt with a number of drug trafficking enquiries. He has good knowledge of the new Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 as well as custody time limits procedure.
Talbir is a Grade 4 Prosecutor and has prosecuted other regulatory offences for government bodies.
Talbir was Defence Counsel in R v Chauhan and Hollingsworth, July 2000, resulting in changes to the way speeding offences are prosecuted, in particular within Birmingham.
Talbir was also Defence Counsel in R (on the application of Marks) v Wolverhampton Crown Court, 16/5/03, (QBD) in respect of overturning an extension of custody time limits where a Crown Court Judge had previously refused to extend them
