Suella is experienced in a wide range of commercial litigation. She advises on general contractual disputes and acts for insurance companies, banks, small businesses and individuals, with particular experience in consumer credit.
Her chancery experience includes representing both companies and creditors in insolvency proceedings, bankruptcy and advising both mortgagee and mortgagor in possession claims. She has been involved in a complex and long-running costs claim in the High Court.
In 2010, Suella was awarded a Pegasus Scholarship to New York City where she worked with Attorneys in the Commercial Litigation Department of Hogan Lovells on a high-value contractual and tortious dispute in the United States Federal Court. She also assisted with litigation brought under New York State law. Suella is admitted to the New York Bar.
In December 2010, Suella was appointed by the Attorney-General to the Regional Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown, with specialisms in Commercial, Chancery, Personal Injury and Common Law.
Suella is co-founder of Africa Justice Foundation, an international development charity working to build stronger legal systems in Africa.
