(Reported as: Royal Bank of Scotland plc v Etridge (No 2)) House of Lords [2001] UKHL 44, [2002] 2 AC 773, in which he wrote the first draft of the "generic" case for the wives. Re Smith (A Bankrupt), Smith v Ian Simpson and Co [2001] Ch 239, Court of Appeal (Change of carriage orders on bankruptcy petition, Insolvency Rules 1986 and ultra vires)
