Sophie Murray is an experienced barrister who has a natural flair for advocacy. She has an extensive defence practise for serious crime, a Grade 4 Prosecutor and on the CPS Panel for rape and serious sexual offences.
She is often led in multi-handed cases and as appears as a junior alone; from Murder to VAT fraud and all types of crime in between.
Having a commercial background in the city she is equally comfortable advising in white collar matters.
She has developed a niche practise in defending cases of a sexual nature and representing clients with mental health problems or diagnosed with Autism.
She has successfully represented defendants in the court of appeal, most recently successfully overturning a 4 year prison sentence for a youth convicted of rape who then received a community order.
