Sir Richard Tucker is a former High Court Judge of the Queens Bench Division, who is now a specialist Arbitrator and Mediator.
As junior counsel he practised from Birmingham in a wide range of criminal and civil litigation cases, where he also had a specialist licensing practice. After taking Silk in 1972 he moved to London where he practised until being appointed to the High Court Bench in 1985. There he sat in the Royal Courts of Justice trying a wide variety of civil actions and also in the Court of Appeal until his retirement in 2000. During this period he also sat on Circuit through out England and Wales and was the Presiding Judge of the Midland and Oxford Circuit.
Since his retirement he has continued to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge and also as a Commissioner in Jersey, alongside developing this specialist practice as a Qualified Arbitrator and Mediator.
On a personal level Sir Richard was until recently a regular sailor and owned a 36ft ketch which he sailed throughout Europe. He is a keen gardener and continues his interests in game shooting and model railways.
