Serena has a busy and growing inquests practice.

During her pupillage, she assisted Philip Rule in representing the family of the deceased in a multi-week Article 2 inquest concerning the self-inflicted death of a prisoner.

Serena’s experience includes Article 2 inquests with and without a jury, as well as non-Article 2 inquests. She recently represented the family of Christopher Kapessa, who drowned aged 13 after being pushed into a river by another child, and was led in that case by Michael Mansfield KC.

Serena welcomes instructions from families and other IPs. She is happy to consider instructions on a pro bono basis where appropriate.
