Michelle read Law and German at University, studying not only English law but also German and European legislation.
Whilst at Nottingham Law School, Michelle was awarded the Ropewalk Prize for Mooting.
Michelle has extensive experience in the Crown court conducting trials and mitigations. She has dealt with a panoply of cases as both a prosecutor and defender ranging from Manslaughter to rape, drug smuggling, money laundering and VAT fraud.
Michelle is a Grade 3 Prosecutor and also on the Attorney General’s Prosecuting list and tries to maintain a balance between prosecuting and defending. She has dealt with confiscation issues on many large and complex cases and has particular expertise in benefit fraud cases.
Michelle has lectured on the Proceeds of Crime Act and the Criminal Justice Act 2003 and is experienced in producing skeleton arguments dealing with the issues raised in the Acts above.

International people smuggling ring . Required knowledge of both English and American law. 4 million pound confiscation hearing that took 2 years to resolve.
R v Danter
Large scale red diesel and money laundering fraud, Covered several countries and required knowledge of various areas of law. Multi million pound confiscation hearing also dealt with and resolved in the client’s favour.
R v Webster
GBP 175 million cannabis importation conspiracy. Defendant successfully acquitted after 3 month trial. Dealt with issues of telephone intercept evidence and Dutch law.
