Melanie joined chambers following the successful completion of her pupillage. She is a member of the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence groups.

During her pupillage Melanie spent time under the supervision of multiple senior and experienced members of the groups. She saw a wide range of high-value personal injury and clinical negligence cases for both Claimant’s and Defendants.

Melanie has also seen and assisted in multiple death in custody inquests, including a five-day jury inquest. She gained experience in dealing with intricate questions regarding the State’s duty to protect life pursuant to Article 2 of the European Convention of Human Rights.

She regularly appears in a wide range of Stage 3 hearings, interim applications, small claims, and fast track trials for both Claimants and Defendants.

Melanie also accepts instructions to draft pleadings and  written advice on quantum and liability.
