Maria has experience of dealing with all aspects of costs including in the County Court, High Court and the Senior Court Costs office dealing with contentious detailed assessments, and applications.
Maria undertakes all aspects of the cost budgeting and assessment process including CCMC’s, interim applications, detailed assessments and provisional assessments.
Maria also has experience of drafting in cost matters including drafting PODS and replies to PODS. Maria also has experience of dealing with complex arguments on the issue of ‘Portal’ costs, QOCS, and Bullock/Sanderson orders.
Maria enjoys dealing with cost matters and in particular dealing with interesting preliminary issues on assessment.
Prior to coming to the Bar Maria worked in a top tier national law firm where she was able to obtain excellent experience undertaking advocacy in costs for a number of different departments of the firm including undertaking detailed assessments in personal injury/clinical negligence cases, abuse cases, professional negligence cases, and general commercial disputes.
Maria takes pride in providing straightforward commercially astute advice to her clients.
