Viewing: Credit Hire for Marc Wilkinson

Marc has over 20 years of experience in civil litigation, and over the last 10 years he has provided advice and representation to specialist solicitors and hire companies in well over a hundred credit hire disputes. Most of this experience has involved representing well known credit hire companies seeking the recovery of hire charges, but occasionally Marc has also represented insurance companies in defending claims, giving a valuable insight into the strategies adopted by both sides of the credit hire industry.
Marc’s work has generally focused on multi-track claims, but higher value fast track work is also undertaken. As a result of his wide experience Marc is well versed in dealing with all aspects of credit hire work – from enforceability, misrepresentation and Consumer Credit Act issues, to ex turpi causa disputes, issues relating to the application and effect of standard hire terms and conditions, through to the more conventional issues of need, period, rate and mitigation or avoidance of loss.
In addition to trials, Marc also frequently deals with pleadings, advisory work, appeals and interlocutory applications, dealing with matters such as CMCs, Costs Budgeting, Specific Disclosure, and applications to extend time, strike-out claims/issues or secure relief from sanctions.
