Katie is a family law specialist accepting instructions in matters relating to children – principally within public law proceedings.
Within public law proceedings, Katie has acted for local authorities, parents and family members as well as separately represented children and children through their Court appointed Guardians. Katie has a wealth and breadth of experience with cases involving serious allegations of physical and sexual abuse, causation of serious injuries to children and those involving the death of a child.
Katie is able to provide clear advice to clients whilst remaining thoughtful to their needs and is able to put clients at ease whilst putting forward their position clearly and robustly. Katie prides herself on her approach to vulnerable clients both in terms of supporting individual needs throughout hearings and pursuing a just and proper outcome on their behalf. Katie has completed the vulnerable witness advocacy training provided by the Family Law Bar Association.
