Jamie has extensive experience of cases involving negligent obstetric and gynaecological practice.

He is particularly experienced in claims for “wrongful birth”, being recognised in Chambers UK (2023) as offering “expertise in wrongful birth cases”. He has recently settled two wrongful birth cases, both arising out of the negligent failure to diagnose microcephaly during antenatal scanning, at roundtable settlement meetings: one (where he acted alone against a Q.C.) for 800,000 and one (with Leading Counsel) for 6 million.
He also has extensive experience in relation to other claims for birthing injury and gynaecological errors, including stillbirth claims (and secondary victim claims for psychiatric injury arising out of the same), fertility claims, and claims involving urological complications following surgery, including following hysterectomy. He recently settled a stillbirth claim where liability was in issue at a roundtable settlement conference for 125,000.
