James is an experienced costs lawyer, and Costs and Litigation Funding form an increasingly significant part of his practice.
He undertakes work in a wide range of costs disputes, on behalf of paying and receiving parties. In addition to undertaking detailed assessment hearings, he undertakes costs appeals and is often instructed in relation to specific costs orders relating to issues including, wasted costs and other conduct issues together with s51 non-party costs orders.
Further to his practice as an advocate, James routinely considers costs issues at the pre-offer stages in Part 47 matters, providing written advice as to tactics and procedure as required.
Away from the bar, James a keen sportsman and has particular interest in summer and winter mountain sports.
