James has acted for the defence in criminal cases throughout his career. He has appeared in practically every one of the Crown Courts of England and Wales. He has represented, as a leading junior, defendants in trials relating to financial crime, environmental regulatory offences, drug conspiracies, and offences of serious unlawful violence/homicide. He has vast experience in defending serious sexual allegations.
