Jack is an experienced personal injury practitioner, described in Chambers and Partners as “an excellent counsel” and “very user-friendly”.
Jack acts in high value and complex cases including:
- Fatal accidents
- Catastrophic injuries
- Clinical negligence
- Psychiatric illness
- Abuse claims
He specialises in particular in industrial disease claims, including asbestos litigation, noise induced hearing loss, vibration white finger, COSHH, carbon monoxide poisoning, and repetitive strain injuries.
Jack’s personal injury practice often extends into public law as he is panel counsel to the Crown and is often instructed to act both against and on behalf of local authorities. He has particular experience of abuse claims and claims arising out of breaches of the Human Rights Act. He also appears at coroner’s inquests.
He has successfully brought and resisted a number of appeals and has appeared in the Court of Appeal.
He has a busy paperwork practice, drafting advices, pleadings, schedules and counter-schedules of loss, and questions to experts.
Prior to becoming a barrister, Jack worked as a solicitor at a national insurance firm. He therefore has particular knowledge of insurance issues arising out of personal injury claims and costs.

Jack is a member of the Attorney General’s London B Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown.
Jack has been appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s panel of counsel for 2019 to 2023.
