Harj is a pupil sitting across the Public Law and Planning and Environment teams.
In his time with the Planning and Environment group, Harj has gained experience of a wide range of planning and environmental matters. Harj has developed his understanding of planning law and policy through close observation of planning inquiries and varied written and advisory work. While working with the planning group, Harj attended a 2-week inquiry on the side of a Local Authority that successfully opposed a housing scheme.
Harj has developed experience of judicial and statutory reviews, working on a number of High Court and Court of Appeal cases with senior members of the group such as Richard Kimblin QC.
During first six, Harj has also contributed twice to No 5’s Planning Podcast, commenting on the assessment of scope 3 emissions for fossil fuel projects in Greenpeace Ltd v Advocate General [2021] CSIH 53 and R (Finch) v Surrey County Council [2022] EWCA Civ 187.
