David has 30 years of practising in crime. He has conducted every possible type of case, both on behalf of the Prosecution and Defence, as well as Inquests and Police Disciplinary Hearings of all types.
He has experience in fraud, murder, serious sexual offences, money laundering, internet offences, drugs offences, including massive importations and serious offences of violence.
He has appeared in the Court of Appeal on many occasions in relation to numerous different topics. He is now Head of the Crime Group at No5 Chambers and is also a Recorder of the Crown Court.
He is regarded as a natural jury advocate, with many successes achieved in all areas of his work.

Where he represented a Lithuanian man charged with murder, who was subsequently acquitted of murder and manslaughter.
R v Aaron Doran
Where he represented a Shrewsbury man charged with murder. He was acquitted.
R v Benjamin Walter
Where he represented a Bournemouth man charged with murder.
R v Dunkley
Where he represented a Leicester man charged with murder.

Where he represented a Stoke man charged with raping his entire family.
R v Paul Davies
Where he represented a Birmingham man accused of shooting another man in a pub.

Where he represented a Liverpool man accused of terrorism offences.

R v Jenkins at Exeter Crown Court
Where he represented a businessman accused of tax evasion. He avoided a custodial sentence.
R v CT, at Lincoln Crown Court
Where he appeared first on an Indictment accusing 6 teenagers of murder. They were all acquitted.
R v Czyz and 4 others
Where he led for the Crown prosecuting 5 Poles for a murder in Burton.

Where he prosecuted a Stoke man for murdering his housemate, by drowning him in the bath.
R v Trail
First on the Indictment representing a Dentist accused of a 1.4 million fraud against the NHS.
R v Mumtaz
First on the Indictment in a 12 week murder involving the death of a young woman. The case involved complex issues including possession and trance disorders, Jinn spirits and a complicated Pathology. 4 Pathologists were instructed in the case, 3 Psychiatrists, an Epileptolgist and a Cultural Spiritual Expert.
OPERATION CLEAN
Standing Counsel prosecuting 3 separate operations in relation to street drug dealers. Teacher charged with rape of her pupil.

She then committed suicide before the trial. The Trial was allowed to continue with her evidence being adduced under the 2003 Hearsay provisions.

Defence Counsel representing a man for manslaughter having covered the victim in white spirit, causing her death 5 months later.

Prosecution Junior. This case involved the murder of a young man in Birmingham. The case went to a second re trial and the Court of Appeal.

Defence Counsel representing an employee of Birmingham University who had stolen 1.5 million pounds from her employers.
IAN TERRY DECEASED.
Representing 3 Greater Manchester Firearms officers at the Inquest of a colleague who had been shot during a training exercise.

Defence Counsel representing a landlord accused of large scale cannabis production in 10 of his 23 properties.
