Tim Jones acted as arbitrator again in the Belgrade Open Pre-moot Competition

Over the weekend of 5th and 6th April, Tim Jones assisted in an international, inter-University, arbitration moot in Belgrade University, acting as the presiding arbitrator in five moots between teams from Latin America, Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the USA. The universities providing ‘counsel’ in the moots presided over by Tim were:

1. Loyola University (Chicago) v Universidad Panamericana (Mexico City);

2. Universität Bonn v Istanbul University;

3 Universidade Positivo, (Curitiba, Brazil) v Sofia University;

4. University of St Cyril and St Methodius, Skopje v University of Mannheim; and

5. Universidad de Montevideo v University de Lausanne.

University of Belgrade Faculty of Law has held the Pre-moot competition since 2008 in preparation for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which is one of the most prestigious moot competitions in the world.
