We are delighted to announce S Chelvan has been shortlisted in the category of Barrister of the Year at the The Lawyer Awards 2017. He is the only barrister on the shortlist below the rank of Queen’s Counsel. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 27th June 2017 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

S Chelvan is an advocate, academic and trailblazer specifically with respect to the rights of migrants, asylum-seekers, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex (‘LGBTI’) community. He is recognised internationally with the UNHCR including him in providing training to the Czech and Slovak authorities in February 2017, and the International Association of Refugee Law Judges including his work in guidance to EU law judges, to be published this year.
