Simon Hunka successfully defended Thomas Ireland, a 26-year-old man from Coventry who was accused of raping a woman he met on a night out in the city centre in October of last year. Mr Ireland had accepted that sexual intercourse had taken place but had insisted that it was consensual.

The jury at Warwick Crown Court heard two days of evidence before returning a unanimous verdict of not guilty after deliberating for just over 2 hours.
