Marcus Marcussen, a 91-year-old retired teacher who worked at Illmington Road Comprehensive School in Weoley Castle has been found guilty of 25 counts of indecent assault on boys.

A jury at Birmingham Crown Court heard that pupils were abused during and after PE lessons, and at a swimming club, when Marcussen worked at the school between 1945 and 1983.

The investigation began after one of the victims sought help after suffering a breakdown.

Sarah Buckingham, prosecuting, said he "hid behind a veneer of respectability".

Judge Nicholas Webb adjourned sentencing until Friday morning.
