No5 Barristers' Chambers is thrilled to annouce that Louise Corfield has been awarded 'Barrister of the Year' at this year's Birmingham Law Society's Legal Awards.
Louise has successfully represented clients in two reported High Court decisions aswell as several other high-profile cases. One of these included leading a team from Ashfords LLP involving multiple appeals, police involvement, allegations of fraud, contempt of court, corruption, and several referrals to the Office of Judicial Complaints against every judge involved in the case. She is one of only two women recommended for traditional chancery workoutside London in Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide. After spear heading a menopause initiative that was then trialled in chambers, she achieved support and financial backing for a large-scale roll out of the programme. She then organised and participated in a well-received panel seminar, leading to menopause awareness training across chancery sets. Louise has done this all through two extended maternity leave periods and working part-time, and is a champion for part-time working at the bar.
Upon recieving the award, Louise responded: "I am thrilled and incredibly flattered to be given this award. I’m so grateful to the incredible clerking team at No5, especially Daniel Griffiths, for all their support of me and my career. It’s an honour to follow in the footsteps of Earl Pinnock and Esther Gamble and be part of No5 winning the award again this year!"
