No5 Chambers engages in mouth-watering fundraising

No5 Chambers has organised a charity bake-off as part of its fundraising program in support of Birmingham Citizens’ Advice Bureau.  The event on 30th April will feature 16 members of staff looking to raise plenty of dough for the local CAB.

No5 Chambers has committed to raising the sum of £10,000 in the run up to Birmingham Citizens’ Advice Bureau 75th anniversary via a combination of sponsorship and fundraising.

Tony McDaid, Practice Director of No5 Chambers, comments:  “We have a respected track record of successful fundraising for worthy causes and sometimes the challenge is to try and come up with a notionally fresh activity to maintain engagement.  It is clear that people have an appetite for cookery shows and so we hope that this event is a recipe for success.”

The event, to be held at No5 Chambers from 10:30, will also include a raffle, with a number of exciting prizes donated by generous Birmingham businesses.  Head of Business Development at Birmingham CAB Emma Cook will judge the work of the aspiring bakers.  Emma says:  “Birmingham CAB are always trying to cook up new ways to publicise our work and raise funds.  No5 Chambers is a dream partner from this perspective and I am delighted that they have chosen to support us in this special year. I look forward to the charity bake-off and hope to be able to have my cake and eat it.”

Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity, relying upon donations and volunteers to allow it to help clients. It assists anyone living in the Birmingham area to access free, impartial advice on a range of issues, from debt and benefits, to housing, employment, immigration and consumer. As well as resolving the problems faced by clients who seek help, it aims to ensure the underlying policies that have caused problems are highlighted, addressed and bought to the attention of policy makers through campaigning.
