Following an outstanding show last year, No5 Chambers has consolidated its position as one of the country’s leading sets of barristers in the annual Legal 500.
Recognised as one of the most authoritative guides to UK law firms, the league table describes No5 as a ‘modern, dynamic, go-to set’ with a top tier ranking as a Midlands set.
And a number of the set's barristers have been recommended as tier one experts in their field nationwide: 22 QCs are listed as Leading Silks, 64 barristers as Leading Juniors with mentions too for new silks Richard Kimblin, Dr Simon Fox and Paul Cairnes.
Chief Executive and Director of Clerking at No5, Tony McDaid, said the set was delighted to be listed as a set ‘housing talented individuals’ best known for its Birmingham presence but with ‘impressive’ offerings in London, Bristol and Leicester.
“We are delighted to cement our position in this year’s rankings which highlights our national reputation and the wide range of expertise offered.
“Particularly pleasing is the listing for our Head of Chambers Mark Anderson QC who is described as ‘a great tactition with an immense intellect and a wonder to watch in cross-examination’.
“While our 22 Queen's Counsel and 64 barristers who received Tier 1 rankings demonstrate a prowess and competence across a broad cross section of areas, testament to our commitment as a business to provide quality services to all of our clients.”
The practice management is described as very professional and effective, where nothing is too much trouble while Mr McDaid himself ‘expertly runs the set, providing great strength and depth to the legal community’.
The Legal 500 rankings are much anticipated by the industry, and No5 Chambers has this year been recommended nationally and regionally. The name checked barristers are acknowledged as experts in their fields, with the set receiving recognition for its work in a variety of areas including family and children law, planning, crime, employment, public law, Commercial and Chancery, clinical negligence and personal injury.
Award winning No5 is one of the UK’s premier set of barristers’ chambers with more than 240 barristers and 33 silks. It has established a reputation for breaking new legal ground and is considered to be progressive and forward thinking.
The Legal 500 is an independent guide, and firms and individuals are recommended purely on merit. It is the only guide to truly reflect the needs of corporate counsel by focusing on the strength in depth of the teams (practice and associates) rather than simply list individual partners.
