Tue, 12 Jan 2016

No5’s Michelle Heeley and Richard Gibbs have been instructed to prosecute ten members of two serious organised crime gangs in a lengthy trial before Wolverhampton Crown Court. The trial stems from an extensive police investigation, Operation Springtime, which targeted suspected cocaine, heroin and cannabis supply and dealing in the West Midlands and resulted in a large number of defendants being charged with a range of offences. The trial is one of a number of complex cases which Miss Heeley and Mr Gibbs have prosecuted against serious organised crime groups in the West Midlands area and both are due to commence a further complex prosecution under the banner of Operation Camper commencing in the summer before Birmingham Crown Court.
