Deputy Head of Chambers Ian Dove QC Appointed as High Court Judge

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

No5 Chambers is pleased to announce that Deputy Head of Chambers Ian Dove QC is to be appointed a High Court Judge at a ceremony to take place at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Wednesday 8th October 2014.

Ian joined Chambers as a pupil in 1986 and rose through the ranks to be regarded as one of the brightest up and coming junior barristers in the UK and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2003. He is a respected barrister in the Planning and Environmental and Public Law fields taking on many notable cases during his time at No5.

2014 is proving to be the most successful, thus far, in our 100 year history. We have received a number of individual awards this year and in addition were most recently awarded "National Chambers of the Year" by The Lawyer Magazine. It is the first time a set of Chambers,  whose principal office is outside of London, have won the award.  The London Office alone now houses over 50 members but the ethos at No5, as many of you know, is we travel wherever you need us to be irrespective of the office a member resides at.

Ian’s elevation to the High Court Bench will take place at The Royal Courts of Justice on 8th October at 13.40pm.
