Three men have been jailed for life for the murder of a convicted child rapist.

Stuart Wareham, 26, Lee Wareham, 33 and Benjamin Walter, 22, beat Geoffrey Reed, 57, to death at his flat in Bournemouth, Dorset on 7 June, after discovering he had served time in prison for four counts of rape – including a child victim.

Mr Justice Griffith Williams said Stuart Wareham was “principally responsible” and would serve a minimum of 20 years, while Lee Wareham and Benjamin Walter were “willing participants” and would each serve at least 18 years.

Simon Jones, Crown Prosecution Service said "While it is true that Mr Reed was a convicted sex offender this cannot justify the brutal attack on him and from which he died"
