David Gardner has been appointed to the Welsh Government’s Panel of Approved Counsel

We are pleased to announce that David Gardner has been appointed to the Welsh Government’s Panel of Approved Counsel. He joins the Junior Counsel B Panel which provides advocacy and advisory work for the Welsh Government. The appointment will commence on 1 March 2021 for a period of five years.

David has expressed how pleased he is to join the panel. David said “Public law in Wales is a fast-developing and a very interesting area. As more legislation comes from the Senedd and the Welsh Government the law in England and Wales continues to diverge. Welsh law is developing its own distinct character and being on the panel is an exciting opportunity to be part of that development.”

David’s practice often includes judicial review claims in the Administrative Court in Wales (as well as in England) and he has longstanding links with Wales having worked as the Administrative Court Office Lawyer for Wales for 8 years, having written the practitioner text ‘Administrative Law and the Administrative Court in Wales’, and having been an executive committee member of Public Law Wales for 9 years.
