Chambers UK 2018

The Clinical Negligence group at No5 Barristers’ Chambers has an outstanding reputation and is widely recognised as one of the leading sets. The group enjoys a nationwide reputation with its members undertaking work throughout England and Wales.

There are over 40 specialist Counsel, some also qualified in medicine, who are members of the group. The members of the group have been responsible for some of the most important and substantial cases dealt with in this field in the United Kingdom, including claims involving brain and spinal injuries and other catastrophic medical injuries, multi-party claims involving clinical negligence or arising from the use of medical products and equipment, human rights, mental health issues and medical ethics.

The work of the group is on behalf of a very wide range of clients, including private individuals, NHS Trusts, medical defence organisations and private medical and related institutions.

The group and clerking team are knowledgeable, approachable and client-focused, which has led to the group winning the Chambers and Partners award for Clinical Negligence Group of the Year in December 2023. The award demonstrates the teamwork involved and the growth of the group over several years.
