The group has intellectual property expertise at all levels, including intellectual property (IP) law, information technology (IT) and media law.

No5’s experienced Intellectual Property and IT Barristers’ frequently represent clients in both the courts (High Court and County Court) and at the Intellectual Property Office. Our clients range from large commercial organisations, small and medium enterprises, and universities to individual inventors, sportsman, entertainers, artists and musicians.

Expertise

Members of the group undertake all types of intellectual property law work and have specific experience in copyright, trademarks, passing off, registered designs, design rights, confidential information, trade secrets, performers' rights and moral rights disputes.

Our information technology work includes software contracts, domain names and copyright issues.

The group also has expertise in all aspects of media law and, in particular, defamation and malicious falsehood, breach of confidence, privacy and Data Protection Act.
